Job Description:

105.5 ESPN is looking for a Part-Time Promotions Assistant.    The ideal individual will assist the Promotions department in effectively and efficiently executing events with a large visible street presence, as well as executing promotional elements and initiatives on-air and online.

Required Skills

• Must be outgoing, enjoy working in a team environment, communicate effectively and be prepared to assist with station event planning and execution, as directed.
• Must be versatile and willing to assist sister stations in the ESPN Denver Cluster as needed.
• Be able to present one’s self in a highly cooperative and professional manner when dealing with both internal and external customers and vendors.
• Integrity in dealing with confidential matters, clients and competitors.
• Must work well under pressure, and have the willingness and ability to learn how to operate promotional equipment. 
• Must be dependable, flexible, practical, and self-motivated while maintaining a standard of quality and integrity.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. 
• Ability to lift objects in excess of 25 lbs. is required. 
• Duties also include the set-up and breakdown of promotional event equipment. 
• Must be willing to travel to appearances/remotes/events within the Northern Colorado region (Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont)

Required Experience

• Must be 18 years or older and able to work a flexible schedule (including weekend and evening events) up to 20 hours a week.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word Processing, Database Entry, accurate typing abilities, and proficient phone skills needed. 
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

 ESPN Radio seeking Sales Pros in Northern Colorado who are $$$ motivated!

Job Duties (include but are not limited to)

• Prospect, Cultivate & SELL on-air Radio Advertising time & on-line advertising for 105.5 ESPN Radio and ESPNDenver.com.
• Sales Calls: Ability to get to the decision maker, obtain/set client meetings, Cold Call potential advertisers; resilient & persistent making multiple sales calls daily
• Strategize with customers, lead through the process for the most effective marketing /advertising plans for a successful ROI for the customer.
• Write/Create/Enhance Sales/Marketing proposals & copy
• Process & maintain necessary paperwork for sales & traffic functions.
• Maintain/utilize basic knowledge of Arbitron ratings, analytics & client applications

Internships

Promotions Internship Description:

ESPN Denver currently has internship positions open in the Promotions Department for Spring Semester 2013. The internship requires 10-15 hours per week and must be taken for course credit. ESPN Denver Promotion Internships are perfect for college students looking to gain experience in Radio Promotions, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or Sales.

Intern responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Working with Programming and On-Air Talent

• Live Remotes / Broadcasts

• Contesting / Merchandising

• Public Relations / Client Relations

• Promotional Event Planning and Implementation

• Promotions with local sports teams

ESPN Denver Promotion Internships are unpaid but are available for college credit. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an educational institution and provide an internship letter from said school. Current students in their junior or senior year in college are preferred but not required. Scheduling is flexible, with convenient weekday, night, and weekend hours. Producer Internship Description:

Looking to get involved in sports broadcasting? Work for the best… Les and Nalen or CJ and Kreckman. ESPN Denver studio interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in assisting with live, local sports programming weekdays 12pm-6pm and some weekends, flexible scheduling is available. Interns must be timely and responsible and will ideally have strong knowledge of sports, specifically Denver sports teams. Basic computer skills and experience working with Cool Edit/Adobe Audition preferred. ESPN Denver Producer Internships are unpaid but are available for college credit. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an educational institution and provide an internship letter from said school. Current students in their junior or senior year in college are preferred but not required.
